Just wanted to let everyone know I survived Nemo (actually it only left a few inches of snow in Manhattan).
I've been very remiss in updating. Not much has been happening and I think I've been a bit off after attaining one of those milestone birthdays. On January 5th I took the train up to Needham, MA for my annual birthday bash with my cousin. We celebrated it with Thai food and a cake (which was pretty bad as it tasted like it was made of sugar and nothing else). One day, during the 6 days of my visit, I went to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (which doesn't compare IMO to "my" Metropolitan Museum of Arts). We ate out a lot going to Charley's at the Chestnut Hill Mall, Blue Moon Bagel, Not Your Average Joe's, The Biltmore Grill and Flour. One day my cousins and I went to see "Hyde Park on the Hudson" - it was an ok movie but I felt that Olivia Colman, who played Queen Elizabeth would've made a much better Eleanor Roosevelt than Olivia Williams as she looked a bit more like Eleanor unlike the other Olivia who bore no resemblance to the first lady. We celebrated my birthday with me making my famous pasta carbonara (actually it was only the second time I've made it) and a fruit tart from Whole Foods as we were too busy to make one from scratch like previous years. All in all a good time was had.
This must be my year of eating out at restaurants. I'm helping a friend go through her stuff before she moves to NC in the spring. She's given me a Coach handbag, some by Furla, a pair of Galo shoes and many more items. As a reward for helping she also takes me out to lunch. So far we've been to Bistro Vendome (twice), Naya (a Lebanese place), Arata Sushi and Teodora. Another friend wants to take me out to an expensive restaurant to celebrate my milestone birthday but we're having trouble deciding which one to go to.
Hope everyone on my flist is well and happy.
